What's new, improved, and fixed in Comptaflow, update after update.

New
  • New "office deadline" on system-generated tasks: set an earlier internal date than the legal due date (per task, or standing for a whole service) so your team finishes before, say, a client leaves on vacation. The legal date always stays visible and is never changed. The right to set it is configurable per role in Settings → Permissions (owner/manager by default).
  • Bookkeeping can now be tracked weekly or biweekly, alongside monthly, quarterly, and annually — useful for clients followed continuously (QuickBooks-style). The due date after the period ends is customizable per client (default: the Friday of the following week).
  • Simpler client portal sign-in for your clients: the sign-in email now includes a numeric code they can type right on the sign-in screen — no more switching to the mail app and back, especially on a phone. The sign-in link still works; your clients use whichever is easier, and they stay signed in on their device between visits.
  • The client portal now installs like an app on your clients' phones, iPhone and Android, under your brand: your logo (or the firm's initials) as the icon, full screen, and notifications for new messages, document requests, and shares — never exposing the content itself. A discreet banner guides installation, a bell button in the portal enables notifications, and a client's Portal tab gives you ready-to-send instructions. Upload your logo in Settings → Invoicing: it also brands your PDF invoices.
Improved
  • The Tasks page breathes: the row of category tabs is replaced by a "Category" dropdown beside the other filters, organized exactly like the Suivi (Bookkeeping & taxes, Payroll, Year-end & returns, Individuals & slips) — pick a whole group or a precise category inside it. The same grouping everywhere, nothing to relearn between pages.
  • Saved filters are now in plain sight: your named views appear as clickable chips above the filter bar (the active view is highlighted), with rename and delete on hover. They are now stored in your account — available on all your devices, on every plan; your existing filters are carried over automatically.
  • Lateness now reads on the date: the due date shows in red when a task is overdue (tasks grid, task popup, and dashboard), and the "Overdue" badge that doubled up beside the status has been removed.
  • The Client and Task type column filters are now proper checkbox dropdowns with built-in search (accent-insensitive): pick your clients or services instead of typing exact text. Search also appears on the Assigned to filter for larger teams.
  • The "Install the portal on your phone" banner now shows more reliably on Android: when the browser doesn't offer one-tap install (for example when the page was opened from an email), the banner shows the manual steps (Chrome menu → "Add to Home screen") instead of staying silent.
Fixed
  • In the tasks grid, an overdue task could make the "Status" column overlap the "Assigned to" column (the "Overdue" badge spilled over the name). Column content now stays within its own column.
  • In the tasks grid, a column's filter icon could disappear when the column was resized close to its neighbour. Headers now truncate their label and the filter icon always stays visible.
  • Deactivating a member failed with "The work transfer failed" when reassigning their client responsible roles to another member, leaving the member active. The responsible handoff now completes correctly and the deactivation goes through.
  • Some actions proposed by the AI assistant (creating or editing a custom task, time entry, bulk update, waiting-on-client) failed on approval with "The action failed" whenever an optional field was left empty, for example an assigned task with no client. They now execute correctly.
  • The client portal sign-in screen rejected the email's code when it was longer than 6 digits: it could not be typed in full. The screen now accepts the code exactly as it appears in the email.
  • Re-inviting a contact to the client portal after revoking their access failed at activation with "Something went wrong". Activation now succeeds and re-activates the contact's access with a fresh consent.

New
  • Client invoicing (Pro plan and above): turn approved time, completed tasks, and your clients' monthly packages into Quebec-compliant draft invoices (GST/QST, bilingual PDF). Status (draft, sent, paid, voided) changes in one click from the invoice list or the client file, the monthly billing run creates one draft per client for packages due, and your clients see their invoices in the portal. No online payments: you collect as you always have.
Improved
  • The task detail popup is now compact: status, priority, and the "Waiting on client" toggle are grouped at the top, the key facts (type, period, due date) fit on a single strip, and the empty space is gone — less scrolling, with everyday actions at hand the moment it opens. The client name now carries an open icon to show it links to the client file.

New
  • Create a custom task without leaving the timesheet: the row selector offers "New custom task" (title, optional client, due date) and the row appears immediately, ready for minutes. The task is identical to one created from the Tasks page and stays editable there.
  • General-time categories are now configurable: beyond "General time" and "Time off", add your own categories (e.g. Training, Internal meeting, Business development) in Settings → General time, each with its own billable default. "Time off" remains a protected category.
  • ComptaFlow can now email you when something needs your attention: assigned tasks and timesheets to approve, approved or rejected — immediately — plus a single daily summary for upcoming deadlines, overdue tasks, and unread team messages. Turn on the types you care about in Settings → Notifications (off by default during beta). Emails are pointers: the details (clients, message contents) stay in the app.
  • Strengthened Law 25 compliance: whoever files a privacy request gets a confirmation, the owner is alerted immediately and reminded on day 20 of the 30-day legal window (on by default), and the incidents page offers a ready-to-send bilingual notice template for affected individuals (the send is recorded in the register). Account deletion and data export now send their confirmations too.
  • The client portal is here (Pro plan and up): give your clients a secure space to exchange documents, answer your requests, and message you — no more email attachments. Invite the contacts you choose from the client's page (Portal tab): each receives a secure sign-in link by email, with no password to remember. Your clients also see "My file", a read-only view of the information you hold about them — never your credentials, tasks, or internal notes.
  • Document requests with checklists: create a request ("2025 T4", "January–March bank statements"), the client sees what's outstanding and uploads directly against each item. Automatic email reminders (configurable, maximum 5) chase outstanding items and stop as soon as everything is received. Save your recurring requests as reusable templates.
  • Law 25 disclosure recorded in the portal: publish your firm's disclosure (a Quebec-ready bilingual template is provided — have your legal advisor review it) and every invited contact acknowledges it before entering, with version and date on record. The acknowledgment register exports to CSV from Settings → Disclosure: your proof of having informed your clients.
  • The Payroll tracking grid catches up with your Excel sheet: each row now shows the service's standing note (editable right in the grid or from the client's settings — the same field), and you can pin one-off reminders (with an optional activation date) that stay on the row from period to period until someone resolves them — the equivalent of your sheet's yellow cells.
  • Pause a service with a reason ("no payroll until further notice — parental leave"): the row stays visible on the tracking grid, greyed with its reason, counts in no overdue totals and generates no tasks. On the planned resume date a reminder appears on the row — resuming stays a human decision.
  • Pay periods containing a statutory holiday are now flagged automatically (a "Stat. holiday" badge and an extra checklist step), based on the indemnity holiday list of the client's province (Quebec CNT, Ontario ESA) and the client's recorded default: always pay, ask, or never — with a per-employee exceptions note.
  • Record each client's payroll email instructions (recipients, CC, per-recipient rules, e.g. "pay stub only"): they appear on hover of the "Email sent" step. Hovering any ticked step also shows who completed it and when — the equivalent of your sheet's initials.
  • A team bulletin per tracking group: owners and managers can display a message at the top of the tracking page (e.g. "MIN WAGE INCREASES IN MAY: $16.60"), with an optional expiry date.
  • Three new obligations join the service catalog: the CNESST Wage Declaration (its own deadline before March 15, auto-suggested for every client with employees — it leaves the year-end slips checklist), the quarterly IFTA return for interjurisdictional carriers (Apr 30 / Jul 31 / Oct 31 / Jan 31), and Revenu Québec Attestation tracking (construction and placement agencies). Two new client characteristics trigger them.
Improved
  • When you email a client from their file, the client's reply now comes straight back to you: the email carries your address as its Reply-To, instead of the system's automated sending address.
  • The Settings page is now organized into four sections — My account, App configuration, Administration, and Compliance (Law 25) — presented in a sidebar instead of one long row of tabs. Every page keeps its address and access rules; only the sections your role can access are shown.
  • The weekly timesheet now fills itself in: your open assigned tasks relevant to the displayed week appear as rows automatically, grouped by task type into collapsible groups (task count and weekly subtotal on the header, minutes entered on each task). Hide an unneeded row or group for the week in one click, or recreate last week's rows with "Copy last week" (hours are never copied).
  • Custom tasks now show their name in the timesheet and the task selector, instead of the generic "CUSTOM" code.
  • More transparent billing: scheduling a cancellation immediately sends "cancellation scheduled for {date}" (and reversing it, "your subscription continues"), and any seat change emails you the new seat count and new monthly total — no more surprise proration on the invoice.
  • The email-address-change confirmation now carries ComptaFlow's bilingual branding (like password reset), and assigning a task from the Tasks page finally creates the assignee's notification.
  • Clients whose pay periods don't follow the shared grid (Wednesday payers, Sunday–Saturday periods) can now have their own anchor date on the Payroll service: weekly and biweekly periods align to their real dates. Payroll is also available at an annual frequency, and CNESST-subject clients carry a badge on the tracking grid.
  • Every deadline rule in the generator is now backed by its official source (CRA, Revenu Québec, CCQ, CNESST, Registraire) in a verified register: 65 rules audited with supporting extracts, re-verified annually.
Fixed
  • The What's New page (release notes) and its RSS feed are now publicly accessible, no sign-in required.
  • The "Something went wrong" error page now recovers on its own in the most common case: after an app update, a tab left open could show this page and the button didn't fix it. The page now reloads automatically to fetch the latest version, and offers a "Reload" button that actually works (instead of a "Try again" that did nothing).

New
  • The user guides are now available in French: every published guide exists in both languages, and the guides search finds content in your language.
  • New "Understanding" pages in the guides: the tax rules behind every computed deadline (verified against CRA and Revenu Québec sources), what enabling a service really does, and why Suivi exists.
  • The DAS service now covers every CRA and Revenu Québec remitter category: besides monthly (regular) and quarterly (small employer) remittances, choose the semi-monthly frequency (accelerated threshold 1: pays from the 1st to the 15th due the 25th of the same month, pays from the 16th to month end due the 10th of the following month), weekly (accelerated threshold 2: 3 working days after each sub-period of the month) or annual (Revenu Québec's annual remittance, due January 15). The service's frequency matches the category on the agencies' notices; existing clients' schedules are unchanged.
  • New plans, billed per seat: Essentials ($39), Pro ($59) and Cabinet ($89) per user per month, plus Enterprise by quote (10+ seats). Pick any plan at any firm size — a solo practitioner can take Cabinet and use the AI assistant. The essentials are included everywhere: client and deadline management, the secure credentials vault, Law 25 compliance, imports, exports and reports.
  • The About and Contact pages are now complete: our story, mission, and values on one side; the right channels to reach us (general questions, feedback, privacy, help center) on the other.
  • The AI assistant is now included in every plan: the Essentials plan (now $29 per user per month) includes the assistant in fast mode (questions and answers), and the Pro plan ($59) steps up to Claude with assisted actions, the WhatsApp channel, QuickBooks/Sage integrations, and advanced compliance. Every plan carries a monthly fair-use limit.
Improved
  • The AI assistant now knows ComptaFlow's user guides: ask it how to do something in the app and it answers with the official guide steps, linking the help center. For tax questions, its links come from the official sites (CRA, Revenu Québec).
  • A lighter interface for solo practitioners: team chat and timesheets appear automatically as soon as a second member joins your firm, and stay out of sight while you work alone.
  • Client limits become fair-use ceilings: we warn you as you approach the ceiling and you can request a raise — adding a client is never blocked on a paid plan.
  • The clients list now shows the confirmation status (To verify / Confirmed) set by your team — sortable and filterable — replacing the old automatically computed import status, which is removed. The import page now points you to clients awaiting confirmation.
  • Deactivating a team member is now a real offboarding: their access ends immediately (including a live session), the deactivation window has you hand off their open tasks, client services and responsible roles to another member — or leave them unassigned —, and their history (timesheets, comments, completed tasks) stays under their name, marked "(inactive)". Seat billing adjusts as before.
  • The landing page has a modernized design: product preview, spotlighted features, and a redesigned Law 25 section.
  • The cookie banner and policies now mention Featurebase, our current feedback portal, instead of Canny.io. The embedded feedback board now loads only after you consent to functional cookies, in accordance with Law 25.
  • The legal documents (terms of service, privacy policy, cookie policy) now correctly identify the business under its trade name "Logiciel Comptaflow".
Fixed
  • Due dates corrected following our audit against CRA and Revenu Québec sources: corporate tax instalments now fall on the last day of each month or quarter of the fiscal year (they were shown one month late), a monthly instalment frequency is available, annual GST/QST filers in business get both their dates (file June 15, pay April 30), and every deadline now follows the right agency's holiday calendar. Upcoming dates on your tasks were updated automatically.
  • "Understanding fiscal deadlines" page clarified: the CNESST wage declaration (legal deadline March 15) is handled as a step of the T4/RL-1 slips task, completed by the end of February — always ahead of the legal date. The page previously suggested a separate task dated March 15.
  • The public site stays accessible while you're logged in: the landing page no longer redirects automatically to the dashboard, and the navigation bar offers a "Dashboard" button to get back to it.

New
  • A public "Release notes" page now lists Comptaflow's new features, improvements, and fixes, with an RSS feed in French and English.
  • A "What's new" button in the top bar opens the release notes; a violet dot flags what you have not read yet.
  • "Useful links": your shortcuts to the government portals (Revenu Québec, clicSÉQUR, CRA) are reachable from every page, and your firm can customize the list in Settings.
Improved
  • The AI assistant now replies in the language of your message: write to it in French or English and it follows you.
