Start or change my subscription

Pick a paid plan, pay through Stripe, and unlock your firm's features.

Who this is for: the firm owner, who manages the firm's plan and billing.

Before you start

  • Your firm starts on a free trial. The trial tier is free and lasts 14 days from when you registered.
  • Only the owner can manage the subscription. If you are a manager or employee, you cannot change the plan.
  • You will need a payment method to enter at checkout.

Steps

  1. Open your firm's billing settings.
  2. Choose a plan. The plans on sale are Essentials and Pro, each priced per user in Canadian dollars; you also pick your billing cycle (monthly or annual, with a 17% saving on the annual cycle). Enterprise (10 users and up) is quote based: use its contact option instead of checking out online, and it is set up with you.
  3. Continue to checkout. You are redirected to Stripe to complete payment.
  4. Enter your payment method on the Stripe page and confirm.
  5. After your payment goes through, your firm's plan becomes active and that plan's features unlock. You receive a confirmation email.

Role variations

  • As a manager or employee: you cannot change the subscription; only the owner can.

What can go wrong

  • You do not check out before the trial ends. While you are on the trial, you receive upgrade reminders when 7, 3, and 1 day(s) remain (one email each), and an expiry email once after the trial end date passes. After the trial ends your account is locked: your data is kept, the billing and profile pages stay available, and choosing a paid plan unlocks everything immediately.
  • A later payment fails. Your firm is marked past due and you receive payment reminders on days 1, 3, and 7. If it is still unpaid after 14 days, your account becomes read-only (you can view everything but not make changes) and you receive a suspension notice. After 30 days the subscription is canceled. Updating your payment method restores full access.
  • A downgrade is refused because of the client portal. Moving down from a plan that includes the client portal is blocked while your clients still have active portal access. The change goes through only once your firm confirms it accepts losing portal access (your data is kept).

Limits

  • Billing is per user: every active member of your firm is a billed seat at the plan's per-user price. Pending invitations do not count; a seat starts being billed when its invitation is accepted. When your active member count changes, the subscription quantity adjusts automatically with a prorated charge or credit, and you receive an email with the new user count and monthly total.
  • Every paid plan includes the core of ComptaFlow: task management with automatic generation, client management, imports and exports (CSV, Excel, and PDF), the credentials vault, the service catalog, the audit log, and the AI assistant (on Essentials it answers questions on the fast model and cannot make changes). Timesheets and team chat are included on every plan but activate once your firm has at least two active members.
  • Pro adds the client-facing and premium level: the calendar view, the client portal (which your clients can install as an app), client invoicing, the premium AI assistant (Claude, with proposed actions and the WhatsApp channel), QuickBooks and Sage integrations, and bulk data export.
  • Priority support is Enterprise only. Enterprise starts at 10 users and is arranged by quote.
  • Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI assistant actions per user; when your firm's allowance is used up, the assistant declines further requests until the next month.
  • The trial is limited to 10 clients (a hard limit). Paid plans have a fair-use client allowance instead; adding a client is never blocked on a paid plan.
